This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------3009ABADBF6740F36C22D60D Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I want to play! Each year during my 8th grade advisory class I read the three middle school/jr high CA Young Reader Nominees for the year aloud. This year one of the nominees in our catagory was The Watson's Go to Birmingham--1963. I had pre-read the book and thought it was okay, but when reading it aloud to my class we had the BEST time together! It's deffinitely one of those books that is better shared. mailbox:/g|/Program Files/Netscape/Users/marions/mail/Inbox?id=199806040700.AAA21219@mx4.home.com&number=419365&part=1.5 -- Marion the Librarian Montgomery Academy (6-8) San Diego City Schools marions@home.com --------------3009ABADBF6740F36C22D60D Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Date: Wed, 3 Jun 1998 21:14:18 -0800 From: Gayle Hodur <ghodur@REDSHIFT.COM> Subject: GEN: Books I've had fun with this year MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" I know we do a lot of favorites lists, but here's the beginning of one more. Sometimes there's a book or two that just made lessons go brilliantly for you this year and that really put a spring in your step about sharing it with kids in some way. It might be a book you read to them, a book you got lesson ideas from, or one you used as a basis for "telling." Here are some of my bookstore "finds" this year that were great fun to use. I'd love to hear about yours! With a Whoop and a Holler - Nancy Van Laan (folktales from the American South) Sky Pilot - (a photo-bio about Amelia Earhart) The Story Vine - Anne Pellowski (folktales from around the world) Anastasia's Album - (photo-bio of the real Anastasia) On Board the Titanic (of course!) And None of it was Nonsense - Betty Rosen (storytelling guide that has me jazzed for next year) *)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*)*) Gayle Hodur Snail Mail: District Librarian Main Street Middle School Soledad Unified School District 441 Main Street (408) 678-3923 Soledad, CA 93960 ghodur@redshift.com Pager Screen Name: UnGayle (IM and ichat) 10682291 ICQ --------------3009ABADBF6740F36C22D60D-- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST * NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
