I have to agree with Alice here and state that she seems to be
able to "bend" the rules to suit her purposes. I know of affluent schoolmates of
my daughters who were able to pay private learning diagnosticians to get a
learning disabled classification and thereby get special privileges when taking
SATs. It often comes down to how much the parents pressure a school's guidance
counselors.



One of the articles mentioned that she apologized for the missing citations
by stating that she hadn't been trained as a journalist. J-school training isn't
a guarantee of honesty. Look at the case of the young J-school graduate who
fabricated so many stories while employed by the NY Times.
