I think you are right, Jo. If Ann interviewed one of the players from the New England Patriots, I would not be interested in a long interview about strategy (since I am not a football fan). Most people watched the interview knowing little to nothing of children's books. They were exposed, for that brief segment, to two of the best. If the next time these viewers buy a present for a child, they go to the bookstore and find one of these, children will be better served. If we bombard the network with a lot of negative emails, the story becomes "The Higher Power of Lucky, pt. 2" for the damage in public image of librarians. We would need to be aware of the way our mails could be misinterpreted. Diane has a great idea of posting the author acceptance speeches or posting our own interviews on Teachertube/Youtube. That would allow us to hear the authors and get the information we, as true literary fans, love to know.
