(please reply off-list, directly to me) Our Board Policy uses "Certificated staff is..." in one of its articles but my partner, who happens to teach composition at the college level, says to 'use my noggin' and that it should be "Certificated staff are..." (which sure sounds better) I am about to wade thru English usage tomes for the correct usage, but thought I'd check with those in the know on this quiet holiday.
